Yes….all the time! for poetry and painting. We don’t get egrets here in Atlanta, but we do get Sandhill cranes. They swoop down on koi ponds and bye bye koi. Some have taken to covering their ponds when a crane sees a pond as a snack bar. Beautiful, but is the a painting or photo? It’s superb in any case.
Yes, It is pen and ink with a light watercolor wash. I spend my winter in Florida, and the majority of the time I’m photographing, nature, especially birds. We live near a rookery where hundreds of birds from up north migrate down here dressed in their mating plumage. It’s quite an experience to witness their behaviors, and the newborn chicks and juvenile’s squabblings.
A lovely homage to egrets.
