Earth Rise Rolling Haiku Collaboration April 17, 2016

Earth Rise Rolling Haiku Collaboration 2016. This year the theme, in acknowledgment of the United Nations’ designation of 2016 as year of pulses, is ” Foodcrop” Haiku.  On The Haiku Foundation Blog you can enter one or more haiku in the comment box.

The following are three are my haiku:

(I also wanted to acknowledge Japan’s devastating earthquake)

conversations

with mud splattered survivors

empty rice bowls

*********

earthquake-

dripping with water droplets

volunteers make weak tea

**********

long rains fall

from one rice seed

thirty stalks grow

  1. These go straight to the heart and moment. The last one gave hope. That was a good juxtaposition of these poems. They are all lovely, haunting and keyed into the situation in Japan. And now Equator. Bless all that survive and those that come to rescue.
